Podcast Episode 0 - High Energy
So here it is, episode 0 of the Undercover Songs podcast.
This is the pilot episode and it basically serves as a trial for the whole idea.
We chose the songs for this episode with no implicit order or reason as I just wanted to try my hand at producing the thing, but in the end they all ended up being either high-powered versions of other songs or watered-down versions of high-energy originals, so the theme (if one can be said to exist) is high-energy songs.
This is the information for the songs and timings on this episode:
- 00:00 - Intro by Nuno
- 00:56 - "The Ukulele orchestra of Great Britain" vs "Nirvana" - "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
- 05:10 - "Scary kids scaring kids" vs "R.E.M." - "Losing My Religion"
- 09:15 - "Xentrix" vs "Ray Parker Jr." - "Ghostbusters"
- 13:10 - Outro - Fan testimony by Darth
We hope you enjoy the show and, if you do, be sure to subscribe to the podcast (using the link on the navigation bar on the right-hand side of the page is one way of doing so).

Hi,
great idea. Nevertheless , it could be improved with a mp3 flash player embeded in the post. There are several of these out there. It would be more userfriendly. :)

Hi sn, glad you liked it!
Yes, a player right there on the page would be a nice addition, even if I do think that using a podcatcher of some sort is more practical.
The fact is, we've only got the ideia for this whole thing less than a week ago, so there wasn't time to do everything we would like yet.
The player will probably be coming along in a while.
Thanks for listening!

Well, although we have many songs ourselves, we are always on the lookout for some more so yeah, if you want to contribute to the podcast just point us to the song (or send it by email) using our contact email: feedback@undercoversongs.com.
Thanks!

Heard the ukulele song live on Jools Holland New Years Day celebration in the UK. It really is excellent.

as the person on earth with the biggest number of lwtua versions, i'd like to contribute (this is my way of jumping on a successful bandwagon) to an episode. if you don't know what lwtua stands for, go hang yourself.
p.s. no typekey auth?
Posted by: pfig at May 23, 2006 11:02 AM
I have a couple of versions of lwtua but if you have lots let's hear them then.
But for the sake of other people (especially since we don't condone people hanging themselves over such trivial matters) lwtua stands for Love Will Tear Us Appart.
This was a public service announcement from your friendly podcasters. :-)

Ok, TypeKey Auth is enabled. Cheers!

Great idea. Keep it going!
