Podcast Episode 10 - Jinxed
This is episode 10 of the podcast.
Sometimes things just go wrong. And when they do, the Universe sees to it that even more things to wrong to boot.
There are no links to the artists featured in this episode because I'm writing this just before heading of to a Pixies concert tonight and I'm late and while I didn't want to miss posting today's show, I definitely don't want to miss the concert either.
On monday the hard drive on my laptop crashed. I had to buy a new drive and install it, which I did Wednesday in the afternoon, but then I had to install all the software to be able to work with it. So I decided to do the show on the desktop iMac on Wednesday evening (because today I have the concert). It was a bit late but never mind that, I'll just do it and sleep a little less. Only the power goes out in my neighborhood and my UPS can't take the strain for a long time with all the computers and the monitors turned on so no show...
Well, OK, I'll just select the songs on the iPod and produce the show Thursday during the day. And I did select them and I got up a little earlier and recorded the intros and got the songs all lined up in my new hard drive.
So now I'm editing the show and I'm almost done with it and the last cover, the very last song, is corrupted, and I don't have the MP3 version with me, only the AAC version with Apple's DRM on it.
So burn a CD with the song and then rip it and put it in. And by now it's so late that I won't have time to do any link hunting and so I have to put the episode up without them.
Bah! Humbug!
Well, at least I have plans for a treat for you all for the beginning of next week, so maybe you'll forgive a half-baked show tonight? ;-)
